Expensive? We Hope So

At Wolf Architects we have never been afraid of being called expensive. In fact being considered expensive is actually a compliment. It tells us that people recognise our value and associate us with the best in the business and that is exactly where we aim to be.

The truth is we don’t believe we are expensive at all. With all things being relative the perception of cost has been distorted over the last decade. Many firms have panicked and slashed their fees out of desperation. We have chosen a different path. We make it a point to lead the industry with our fees set as high as possible because the quality of our work must always reflect the value we bring.

And here is something important. By charging higher fees we are doing the entire architecture profession a favour. The trend of undercutting one another has weakened the industry and diminished the value of design. If architects as a profession are to survive we need to get back to charging 10% as a minimum. Wolf Architects intends to spearhead this movement and lead by example.

So when someone approaches us with a cheaper fee proposal from another architect asking us to beat it we will do the opposite and charge more. Why? Because we know we will deliver more. We don’t cut corners. We don’t recycle designs. What we create are one off unique masterpieces each tailored to the people who live in them.

So yes please make us the most expensive. Because that way you will be assured of getting the very best out of us. And being the best is never cheap.
